Someone Left a Geranium on My Doorstep

This was a white clapboard house with missing siding and exposed framing. Its now demolished. There is enough space for the geraniums and pots in front of the door step. The tree on the right helps create that space. The cast shadow of another tree define ground and wall planes. Value and temperature changes suggest space and separation. The rich darks and hard edges of the inside door window panes suggest this is the center of interest. Hard edges, soft edges, washed areas, opaque areas, and light flowing over building shapes, draw you there. Its not the geraniums after all.
