Introverted Power

Painted in the watercolour technique from light to dark, the choice of contrasting colours and alternating soft and hard edges, positive and negative shapes are my way to show the exploding strength in the "Extroverted Power". The acrylic would let me create the impression of movement and immediacy absolut necessary for this subject. It is like a shouting in the sunset. (This description will apply also to the second painting in the pair named "Introverted Power". In my mind they should be showed together, but the jury will decide.)
In the second painting I was emphasizing the softness of an abstracted woman's face by using warm colours with slight temperature changes to cool tints in the complementary colours, realizing in this way a reflective stillness that I was looking for, keeping a good strong contrast that still gives a quiet power to the painting.
