Waiting for the Last Train in Montreal

Transparent watercolor with touches of gouache with heavy masking used for the upper and lower decks (to protect white light) of Subway Station. In many areas there's undercoat of white and opaque yellow ochre to create texture which is more visible in concreate and siding of the Escalators.
The painting reminds me of my Montreal trip in 2019, everyone waiting for the train seemed exhausted and time stood still for everyone in waiting game. This was pretty much the same theme resonated with last whole year with covid pandemic - "The long wait" for just about anything.
